Student Accident Insurance
The district provides supplemental student accident insurance through KidGuard to help cover medical expenses resulting from injuries that occur during school hours or school-sponsored activities. In the event of a student injury occurring on school premises or during a school-sponsored activity, the supervising teacher, sponsor, or designated staff member shall complete an incident/accident report. Upon submission of the report, KidGuard, the district’s insurance carrier, will initiate contact with the student’s guardian to provide claim information and next steps.
This coverage is secondary, meaning it is designed to assist with costs not covered by a family’s primary health insurance and does not guarantee full reimbursement of all medical expenses. The policy is not intended to replace primary health insurance, and the school district is not responsible for medical costs not covered under this plan.
To ensure timely processing of any claim, all injuries should be reported promptly to school personnel so that proper documentation can be completed. Additional details regarding coverage, including policy terms, limitations, and exclusions, are available through the district upon request.
